Bird was emotional when she said goodbye to her colleagues and fans in Seattle.
Sue told reporters she was disappointed about the season and game afterward.
Bird, a four-time champion and future Hall of Fame point player, retired in June.
Bird, the 2002 #1 overall choice from UCONN, has made 12 All-Star teams and holds the WNBA assist record.
Bird said she'll miss the game that gave her so many fantastic memories and hopes she made everyone proud.
Sue had 8 points and 8 assists in 36 minutes as the Aces beat the Storm 97-92 to reach the WNBA Finals.
