Chelsea fires Thomas Tuchel as manager

Three months after buying Chelsea, the new owners fired head coach Thomas Tuchel.

Chelsea lost 1-0 to Dinamo Zagreb in Tuchel's 100th and final game as coach.

Graham Potter, Mauricio Pochettino, and Zinedine Zidane top Chelsea's shortlist to replace Tuchel.

Todd Boehly and Clearlake Capital led a team that bought Chelsea from Roman Abramovich in May and spent more than £250 million on nine players.

ESPN sources say Boehly and Tuchel's relationship deteriorated over the club's transfer plan.

The owners did something because they were worried about the team's bad start to the season.

Members of the club's backroom staff will take interim command, possibly for Saturday's trip to Fulham.
